Eight Low-Voltage Systems We Install

From a single home office ethernet run to a full commercial structured cabling system — we build the physical network your equipment plugs into.

Structured Cabling (Cat6/Cat6a)

Structured Cabling (Cat6/Cat6a)

Ethernet runs from patch panel to wall jacks — through walls, ceiling space, or surface conduit. Every cable terminated, labeled at both ends, and Fluke-certified.

Server Room / IDF Setup

Server Room / IDF Setup

Rack installation, cable management, dedicated cooling circuits, UPS power. The clean, organized server closet your IT team deserves instead of the rats nest they inherited.

PoE Camera Lines

PoE Camera Lines

Cat6 runs to every camera location — interior, exterior, parking. PoE delivers power and data on one cable. Weatherproof conduit on outdoor and exposed runs.

WiFi Access Point Drops

WiFi Access Point Drops

Cat6 runs to optimal ceiling locations for full coverage. We work with your IT team on placement — then run the cable and mount the bracket.

Home Office Network

Home Office Network

Hardwired ethernet to your home office — no more WiFi drops on Zoom calls. Wall jacks, patch panel, and a small network closet if you need it.

A/V & Conference Room

A/V & Conference Room

Display mounts, projector drops, ceiling speakers, digital signage. HDMI, Cat6 for streaming, and dedicated power — all concealed in the wall.

Phone & Intercom Wiring

Phone & Intercom Wiring

VoIP-ready ethernet drops, legacy phone cabling, paging and intercom systems. We handle both modern IP and traditional analog installations.

Access Control & Alarm

Access Control & Alarm

Low-voltage wiring for card readers, electric locks, door contacts, motion sensors. Clean runs to your alarm panel or access controller.

Our Process

Design to Handoff

From network design to Fluke-certified documentation — clean, tested, and ready for your IT team.

1

Network Design

Review your floor plan, count drops, map cable pathways. We work with your IT team on placement and spec — Cat6 vs Cat6a, shielded vs unshielded.

2

Cable Installation

Run Cat6/Cat6a, PoE lines, and low-voltage circuits per TIA/EIA-568 standards. Velcro cable management, no zip ties. Labeled at both ends.

3

Testing & Certification

Every run tested with a Fluke certifier — speed, attenuation, crosstalk, length. Test results included in your documentation package.

4

Documentation & Handoff

Port map, cable route diagram, and test results delivered. Server room organized, labeled, and ready for your IT team to plug in.

The Fox Difference

Why Fox for Data Cabling

Fluke-Certified Every Run

Every cable tested with a Fluke DSX certifier — speed, attenuation, crosstalk. Written test results delivered. Not "it links up" — actual certified performance.

TIA/EIA-568 Standards

Every installation follows industry cable standards — termination, bend radius, separation from power, pull tension. Built to perform for 20+ years.

Clean Cable Management

Velcro ties, not zip ties. Color-coded by system. Organized racks and patch panels. The server room your IT team will actually want to work in.

Full Documentation

Port map, cable route diagram, Fluke test results — all delivered digitally. Your IT team can troubleshoot and expand the network without guessing.

FAQ

Data Cabling Questions

Why hire an electrician for network cabling instead of an IT company?

We handle the construction side — running cable through walls, conduit, ceilings, and between floors. That's electrical trade work. Your IT team or MSP handles switches, routers, and configuration. We do the physical infrastructure they plug into.

Cat6 or Cat6a — which should I choose?

Cat6 handles 10 Gbps up to 55 meters and is sufficient for most offices. Cat6a supports 10 Gbps at the full 100-meter distance and is recommended for server rooms, long runs, and new construction where you want future-proofing. We advise based on your layout.

Can you run cables without opening walls?

In most cases yes. We use surface conduit, raceway, baseboard channels, and drop-ceiling routing. Minimal wall penetration, clean result. We show you the proposed route before starting.

Do you test every cable after installation?

Yes. Every run gets tested with a Fluke DSX certifier — speed, attenuation, crosstalk, near-end and far-end. Test results are part of the documentation package we deliver.

How much does network cabling cost?

Single Cat6 run (under 100 ft): $150-$300. With surface conduit: $250-$450. Full office network (10-20 drops): $2,500-$5,000. Call (650) 550-0719 for a free estimate.

Can you set up a home office with hardwired ethernet?

Yes. One of our most common residential calls. We run Cat6 from your router location to your office, install a wall jack, and test the connection. Usually takes 2-3 hours. No more WiFi drops on video calls.

Do you install network equipment (switches, routers)?

We install the physical infrastructure — cable, jacks, patch panels, racks. For equipment configuration (switches, firewalls, VLANs), we recommend working with your IT provider. We coordinate with them on placement and power.
