Quote My EV Install →Chargers & Configurations
Hardwired or outlet, Tesla or universal — we install every major Level 2 EV charger and match the right setup to your panel and use pattern.
Tesla Wall Connector
Hardwired 48A wall connector — Tesla's flagship home charger. Up to 44 miles of range per hour for Model 3, Y, S, and X. We mount, run the dedicated 60A circuit, and commission.
Tesla Universal Wall Connector
Same hardware with a built-in J1772 adapter — works for Tesla and every other EV (Ford, Rivian, Hyundai, etc.) without an adapter cable.
ChargePoint Home Flex
WiFi-enabled, app-controlled, 50A capable. Pulls rebates from PG&E and BAAQMD when properly installed. Great for households planning solar + battery.
Enphase / Wallbox / Emporia
Universal J1772 Level 2 chargers — work with any EV. We install all major brands and match the right amperage to your panel.
NEMA 14-50 Outlet
Code-compliant 240V outlet for portable EV chargers — flexible if you don't want a hardwired unit. We bond, GFCI-protect, and label per latest NEC.
Hardwired Installation
For chargers above 40A continuous, hardwiring is code-required. Cleaner look, no GFCI nuisance trips, full charger amperage available.
Bay Area EV Installs
More Than Just Mounting a Box
Every Fox EV install includes panel check, permit, inspection, PG&E paperwork, and rebate-ready receipts.
Panel Capacity Check
Most homes need a load calculation before adding a 48A circuit. We do this on-site, free, before quoting.
EV Charger Selection
Tesla? Universal? App-controlled? We help match the charger to your vehicle, panel, and use pattern — no upselling.
Permits & Inspection
Every Bay Area city requires a permit for hardwired EV chargers. We pull it, schedule inspection, and close it out.
PG&E EV Rate Plan
You'll want to switch to EV-A or EV-B time-of-use rate after install. We give you the form numbers and links.
Rebates & Credits
PG&E, BAAQMD, and SFCleanAir offer rebates that can offset part of the install cost — amounts vary by program and address. We provide receipt and W-9 docs.
Future-Proofing
Adding a second EV in 2 years? We can pull conduit and oversize the circuit now so the second install is plug-and-play.
From First Call to First Charge
Four predictable steps. Most homes are charging within a week of first call.
Free Panel Check
On-site load calculation — does your existing panel have headroom for a 48A circuit, or do we need an upgrade first?
Charger Selection
We help you pick the right charger for your vehicle, panel size, and use pattern. No commission, no upselling.
Permit + Install
City permit pulled, charger mounted, dedicated circuit run, GFCI/AFCI configured, label applied. Typically 4-6 hours.
Inspection + Rebate
City inspector signs off; we hand you the closeout doc + PG&E/BAAQMD rebate paperwork ready to submit.
Why Bay Area EV Owners Choose Fox
Panel Check First
Every quote starts with an on-site load calc. We won't sell you a charger your panel can't safely support.
Tesla + Universal
We install Tesla Wall Connector, Universal (J1772), ChargePoint, Wallbox, Enphase, Emporia — match the right unit to your car and panel.
Rebate Paperwork Done
PG&E, BAAQMD, and SFCleanAir paperwork prepared and handed to you on completion — so you can claim any rebates your address and program qualify for.
Future-Proof Wiring
Conduit sized for a future second charger, load-managed dual setups available. Plan now, plug-and-play later.
Same-Week Install
Most installs scheduled within 5 business days. Got a Tesla delivery date? We'll match it.
Solar + Powerwall Ready
We coordinate with solar/battery installers, handle the service-entrance work, and configure systems to charge from solar.
EV Charger Installation Questions
How much does a home EV charger install cost?
Most Bay Area Tesla Wall Connector or ChargePoint hardwired installs land between $1,200 and $2,400 — depends on how far from the panel, whether wall/conduit penetration is needed, and panel space. Includes parts, permit, install, and inspection.
Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Often — most 1980s-2000s Bay Area homes have 100A or 125A service that's already loaded with HVAC, range, water heater, etc. Adding a 48A EV charger usually requires bumping to 200A. We do a load calc on-site (free) before quoting.
How long does the install take?
Standard install: 4-6 hours on the day. If a panel upgrade is bundled, plan for one full day with PG&E coordination.
Can I install a NEMA 14-50 outlet instead of hardwiring?
Yes — flexible if you don't want a hardwired unit and you have a portable charger. Note: NEMA 14-50 limits you to 40A continuous (vs 48A hardwired), and requires GFCI protection per current NEC. We install both.
Do you handle PG&E rebates and EV rate plan switches?
Every install includes rebate-ready receipts and the form numbers to submit to PG&E, BAAQMD, or SFCleanAir. We also point you to PG&E's EV time-of-use rate plans, where off-peak overnight charging is billed at a much lower rate.
Can you install for Tesla, Ford, Rivian, Hyundai EVs?
All of them. Tesla's Universal Wall Connector has built-in J1772 so it works for every brand. We also install ChargePoint, Wallbox, Enphase, Emporia — match the right charger to your vehicle and panel.
What about a future second EV?
We can pull conduit and size the circuit during the first install so a second charger is plug-and-play later. Talk to us about load-managed dual chargers if you want both running concurrently.
Do you do solar + Powerwall + EV setups?
Yes — we coordinate with your solar installer, handle the service-entrance work, and configure Powerwall to prioritize EV charging on solar. Most complex install we do, and one of the most satisfying.
