Holiday Lighting Questions
When should I book holiday lighting?
Book by mid-October for prime installation dates (before Thanksgiving). After November 1 most premium dates are gone, though we still install through mid-December as schedule allows.
Do you provide the lights or do I?
Both options. Most clients prefer our commercial-grade LED stock — C9 or mini, warm/cool/multicolor — which we own and reuse year over year. If you have lights you love, we install yours.
How much does professional holiday lighting cost?
Typical Bay Area home (~120 ft of roofline + wreaths + tree wrap): $750-$1,500 for design, install, maintenance, takedown, and storage. Larger homes or more elaborate displays scale up from there.
Will the lights damage my roof or gutters?
No — we use removable clips that snap on shingles or into gutter lips, no nails or staples. Tree wraps use UV-resistant cord that doesn't bind growth. We've been hanging lights this way for years without a single roof claim.
What about power and timers?
We use a dedicated GFCI outdoor outlet (install one if needed), with a dusk-to-dawn photo-cell or smart-plug schedule. Lights on at sunset, off at midnight, every night automatically.
Do you handle commercial holiday displays?
Yes — strip malls, office complexes, HOAs, retail storefronts. We can scale to large displays with branded color schemes, custom shapes, and synced timers across multiple properties.
What's included in maintenance?
One mid-season visit to swap any burned-out bulbs, fix sagging strands, replace timers if needed. Most installs need it once or not at all.
Can the lights stay up year-round?
Some clients prefer permanent eave-line LED that doubles as both holiday and accent landscape lighting. We install permanent LED tape under eaves with color-changing controllers — Christmas red, July 4 red/white/blue, Halloween orange, etc.
