The Wiring Behind Your Security

Security & Access Control Wiring

Security systems are only as reliable as their wiring. We run PoE for cameras, power for locks, control wiring for access points, and intercom cabling — concealed, tested, and documented.

Infrastructure

Eight Systems We Wire and Power

We handle the electrical backbone — your security integrator handles the software and configuration. Together, it works.

IP Camera Wiring (PoE)

IP Camera Wiring (PoE)

Cat6 lines to every camera location — interior, exterior, parking. Weatherproof conduit on exposed runs. PoE eliminates separate power runs to each camera.

NVR/DVR Power & Network

NVR/DVR Power & Network

Dedicated circuits and network connections for your recording equipment. Clean power, proper ventilation, UPS-ready — your footage stays safe when the grid hiccups.

Access Control Wiring

Access Control Wiring

Low-voltage wiring for card readers, keypads, and controllers. We work with HID, Kisi, Brivo, Avigilon — any platform your integrator specifies.

Electric & Mag Locks

Electric & Mag Locks

Power and control wiring for electric strikes, magnetic locks, and crash bars. Fail-safe or fail-secure — configured per fire code and your security requirements.

Doorbell Cameras

Doorbell Cameras

Ring, Nest, and commercial video intercom wiring. Transformer upgrades when the existing doorbell power is too weak for modern cameras.

Intercom Systems

Intercom Systems

Building entry intercoms, multi-tenant systems, video intercoms. Wiring from entry points to each unit — concealed and labeled.

Gate & Barrier Operators

Gate & Barrier Operators

Power and control wiring for parking gates, bollards, and barrier arms. Coordinated with your gate vendor for motor specs and control signals.

Motion Sensors & Contacts

Motion Sensors & Contacts

Door contacts, request-to-exit sensors, motion detectors, glass break sensors. Low-voltage wiring run cleanly to your alarm panel.

Our Process

Survey to Handoff

Site survey with your integrator, concealed cable runs, every line tested, documentation delivered.

1

Site Survey

Walk the property with your security integrator. Map camera locations, door access points, cable pathways, and power requirements.

2

Infrastructure Install

Run Cat6 PoE lines, lock power, control wiring, and dedicated circuits. All concealed — through walls, conduit, or ceiling space.

3

Circuit Testing

Test every line before your integrator connects equipment — voltage, PoE power, continuity, signal integrity. No dead drops.

4

Handoff & Documentation

Cable map and labeling handed to your IT team. Final coordination with integrator for equipment activation.

The Fox Difference

Why Fox for Security Wiring

Concealed Cable Runs

Cables inside walls, conduit, or ceiling space — not surface-mounted zip-tied runs. Clean installation that looks professional and lasts decades.

Integrator Coordination

We work directly with your security company. Site survey together, specs confirmed before we run wire, handoff with cable map and test results.

Every Cable Tested

Every PoE line, every power run, every control cable — tested for continuity, voltage, and signal integrity before your integrator touches it.

Labeled & Documented

Every cable labeled at both ends, color-coded by system. Cable map delivered to your IT team. No mystery wires three years from now.

2-Hour Response

Need an urgent camera or access point added? We respond within 2 hours and can often schedule within 1-3 business days.

Licensed & Insured

CSLB #1145945, C-10 license, full insurance and bonding. Your building owner and insurance company get proper documentation.

FAQ

Security Wiring Questions

What exactly do you install vs. what does the security integrator do?

We run all the wiring and electrical infrastructure — PoE cables, power for locks, dedicated circuits for NVR equipment, conduit, junction boxes. Your security integrator handles programming, camera configuration, access control software, and system setup. We coordinate with them throughout.

Which access control systems do you work with?

We run wiring for any platform — HID, Kisi, Brivo, Avigilon, Verkada, and others. The brand doesn't matter to us; we need the spec sheet for power requirements and cable type for readers and controllers.

Do security camera installations need permits?

Low-voltage wiring (Cat6 for cameras, control signals) typically doesn't need permits. But dedicated power circuits for NVR rooms and controller panels may require a permit if added to the existing panel. We determine this during the site survey.

Can you wire an entire building for security from scratch?

Yes. We handle full security infrastructure — from a single doorbell camera to 50+ IP cameras with multi-door access control. We've wired office buildings, retail, warehouses, and multi-family properties across the Bay Area.

How long does a typical security wiring project take?

Small projects (4-8 cameras, 2-3 doors) — 1-2 days. Mid-size buildings (12-20 cameras, 4-6 doors) — 3-5 days. Large commercial — quoted individually. We work around your business hours.

Do you install Ring and Nest doorbell cameras?

Yes. We install the camera, run or upgrade the transformer if needed, and ensure the WiFi reach is adequate. If the existing doorbell wiring is too light, we run new wire. Takes about an hour per camera.
